Our Story
Turning Tragedy into a Mission
Safina has come a long way since its humble beginnings in 2005. Every life we’ve touched, every child we’ve lifted, strengthens our resolve to stand with those most vulnerable and overlooked by society.

Today, our home brings together children from across Pakistan under one roof of care, dignity, and opportunity.

Many arrived having faced deep poverty, malnutrition, and unimaginable hardship. Today, they thrive in a space where they are nourished, educated, and supported with the stability and love every child deserves.

First Home
2005
What began as a small effort to shelter orphaned children after the 2005 earthquake grew quickly into something far greater. A group of committed individuals rented a modest home in Islamabad’s G-11.

Growth
2010s
As more children arrived from across Pakistan, they moved to a larger space in Bani Gala to meet the growing need. We also began increasing our capacity to support more children.

Purpose Built Facility
2019
In 2019, with the unwavering support of our donors, we built a purpose-driven orphanage in Islamabad’s C-16 — a place designed to give 250 children once the entire facility is completed.

Our Mission
Where Others Stop, We Begin
At Safina, our mission is simple but bold: to go where no one else goes and to help those no one else is willing to help.

We launched our orphanage project at a time when few organizations were willing to take on the challenge — not because the need wasn’t there, but because caring for children demands constant attention, resources, and heart. We didn’t hesitate. We stepped in — and we haven’t stopped since.

We are unyielding in our approach. We don’t let limited resources or difficult circumstances hold us back. In fact, we lean into the hard work, because we believe that the most forgotten people are often the ones who need us most.

That’s why our mission has taken us into some of Pakistan’s most underserved and overlooked regions — including Balochistan, where we’ve built homes and installed water wells, and remote communities where we’ve delivered winter blankets and Ramadan food rations.

Our Vision for the Future
We are not just raising children — we are raising future leaders. Every lesson we teach, every meal we serve, and every home we build is part of our unwavering belief in a brighter, more compassionate future.

Because when others stop, we begin. And we don’t stop until hope takes root.
